Will ‘Aladdin’ Be on Disney Plus?
Sometimes, Princess, you just have to take a risk. That includes subscribing to Disney Plus without confirmation that the live-action Aladdin will be joining the platform. What is including among the day-one library for this streaming platform? Will the 1992 animated version of Aladdin be available for bingeing on Disney Plus? Here’s what we know about this subscription service and what will be available at its launch.
Disney movies released in 2019, including, Captain Marvel and Dumbo, will be available on this streaming platform
Disney’s official streaming platform, Disney Plus, is just a few weeks away. Along with a subscription comes access to content produced by Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic. Fans are already excited to see movies created in 2019 from the comfort of their own homes. That includes Marvel’s blockbuster, Captain Marvel and Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo, both of which premiered in March.
But Disney didn’t stop there. In addition to having beloved animated classics, the company will produce television shows exclusive to this streaming platform. That includes series like The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and One Day at Disney. The platform recently announced some of the movies to be available on this platform at its launch date. Unfortunately, that does not include the live-action adaptation of Aladdin, featuring actors like Mena Massoud, Will Smith, and Naomi Scott.
The 2019 version of ‘Aladdin’ is not listed among Disney Plus’ Day-One library
Unfortunately, the 2019 adaptation of Aladdin is not listed among the Day-One movies premiering on the streaming platform. However, there’s good news for live-action Aladdin fans. Although the movie might not be on Disney Plus at its launch date, the film will likely be available for streaming within the next few months. The biggest indication of that is Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame joining the Disney Plus library one month after its official launch date.
According to What’s On Disney Plus, “with Aladdin being released around 4 weeks after Endgame, an early January 2020 release on Disney+ seems likely. But Disney might be tempted to use Aladdin as a new movie for the Christmas period to help pull in subscribers and keep its new subscribers engaged. It would also help shorten the release schedule down to the more traditional six to seven-month window that we’ve been used to on Netflix.”
The original ‘Aladdin’ will be available for streaming on Disney Plus
We’ve never had a friend like Disney Plus. Starting on Nov. 12, 2019, fans will be able to travel on a magic carpet with Aladdin and Jasmine. The original Aladdin, which premiered in 1992, will be available for binge-watching on this streaming platform at its launch date.
The 1992 version of Aladdin is listed among other iconic Disney animated films. That includes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. Disney Plus premieres on Nov. 12, 2019.
The animated version of Aladdin and the live-action adaptation are both available for purchase on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Ultra 4K HD.
Actor Jeff Goldblum first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thor: Ragnarok. Now, he’s speaking about the upcoming sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder. Will he return for the fourth installment of the series? Let’s find out.
Ragnarok, the third film in the epic MCU trilogy, saw the titular hero arrive on a new planet, Sakaar, where he is taken in as a contender to fight the champion. The leader pulling the strings of the contest is known as the Grandmaster, portrayed by Goldblum.
The character is, while not the villain of the movie, an obstacle in Thor’s way, while also helping to reconnect with Bruce Banner / the Hulk as well as his mischevious brother, Loki. He’s also the reason Thor meets Valkyrie. Goldblum’s portrayal was also one of the most entertaining of the flick.
